Material selection

Choose a Material Around the Job

Material recommendations begin with what the part must do, the process that can make it and what is currently available.

Selection questions

Use and environment

Describe load, temperature, exposure, handling and whether the part is a presentation item or working prototype.

Geometry and finish

Feature size, wall thickness, support, visible surfaces and post-processing affect the process choice.

Availability and evidence

A specific grade is confirmed during quotation. Technical properties must come from the relevant supplier data and test conditions.

When you are unsure

Select “Recommend a material” on the quote form and describe the intended use. The review will distinguish current availability from a general material possibility.
